2025/26 Tim Iroegbunam

The more game time he gets in the league the better he’ll get
He has all the attributes needed to be elite but he’s still got a lot to learn

At times he was beating players with pace and power like he was Yaya Toure… at times he still dives in and makes poor rash decisions

Whether we sign another CM before end of window or not, I hope he gets plenty of minutes and not just in the cups because he can become special

Always a hard fought race to write off young players. @MikeH72 went early let’s see how it works out for him.
I agree far too early to write off young players. We do it too often. Especially when they have the physicality he has. I know they are very different positions. But I equate it a little like Antonee Robinson. Better going forward as a youngster. But not as disciplined defensively. I think we all know we would love to have Antonee in the squad. A year away on loan or regular minutes here I see him being a fantastic player next year or at worst year after next if he hones his game

I realise how little I actually paid attention to the performances under Dyche now. I've actually no idea how I rate him. Seemed decent yesterday but was poor on Monday. I don't even remember how he's played before tbh. I'm all for more players being able to beat their man and take a risk to break lines tho!

Has all the physical tools, it's all about "can" he develop that ability to slow the game down in his head - likes of Grealish especially and KDH on initial looks, they know what they are doing before the ball gets there, with Tim Iroegbunam still think he gets it and then starts thinking.

Can that be developed? Or is it something you either have or dont have.

It's been disappointing seeing so many write him off considering the start to the season he had last season in the first 3 or 4 games.

Against Bournemouth for 70 mins he was outstanding and put in one of the best midfield performances we've seen in about the last 5 years.

He clearly has ability but his levels have dropped off unfortunately for a lot of the time since. Needs to be given patience by the fans. Moyes can make a player out of him.

Thought he did a lot of things well yesterday, good performance.

forum shortcut for Tim name spelling. New
2025/26 Player Performance Thread

@GrandOldTeam implemented a handy gimmick for Tim, and it goes like this.

Because there's a little difficulty spelling his name, and especially in the match day thread when things are happening quickly, a spelling short cut has been applied where; If you type 'tim_i' without the '_' you get his name auto written on post.

like so, Tim Iroegbunam
