Well the money was there but we went for a striker, that shows you Roberto is happy with what we have in goal.

On another note i see Stoke have gone out again and bought a big money player, i think we can forget about Butland, they are building a side for the future so wont be selling him anytime soon.

Some of you lot need to stop being so harsh and look back at some of the moments of magic this man has given us.

The season he was "excellent" apparently. Nah kids, he was just ever so slightly less woeful

We were never going to sign a first choice keeper in January. Also, no one wanted Howard this month, if a team genuinely wanted him now im sure things would have been different.

Whos going to let their first choice keeper leave in January to sign for us? No one.

O yeah thats true, but i mean more in the summer, certain Howard will go then but cant see Butland, a name many of said they would like, being the replacement. Fair play to Stoke the seem to be building a good side and making statements in the market.

I don't know how it all works, but if I'm reading this right, the MLS window is open from February 18th to August 6 (it's shut most of May and all of June). Premier League teams are still free to sell players after the PL window shuts, they just can't register new players, right?

Consigli from Sampdoria would be my slightly left-field and hipster choice. Looked fantastic whenever I've seen them play.

At this point I just want to see Joel get a go though.

He could sort the move and have it arranged I think mate, but couldn't leave until June... I think...

Oh mate don't let facts and common sense get in the way of somebody being able to slate Martinez...

Yeah, but MLS clubs can also make deals early and delay the move. It's still possible that it could happen, but I feel like if it was going to it would've been announced already so we' could get in on a new keeper.

Robles has looked decent so far this year, but I'm not entirely sold yet. Most of his opposition has been lower league.

Ah. It doesn't matter for Everton purposes, it's just puzzling. I'd go down to the MLS office myself and tell them to get their sh*t in gear with the rest of the world, but it's cold outside.
