If he's still here at the end of the window I will chase him down in Tesco while he's doing the weekly shop and slide tackle him into the self checkouts. He'll just be laying there in a crumpled heap with "please place item in bagging area" going round and round in his head, the ultimate torture.

when I see him in waitrose im gonna have an argument with him over what type of organic kale is best, but then we always do that

He has in the past said he will see out his contract with us before going to the MLS in 2018, think he will be with us for a while yet unfortunately.

Strange insight into the way the American league works here and why Howard is being linked.

The Rapids on Thursday traded up to the No. 1 spot in the player allocation rankings (PAR), swapping their No. 2 slot and draft picks with Chicago Fire.

"For us, the PAR ranking is probably the most significant draft-day deal we've done in this club's history," Rapids VP of soccer operations Paul Bravo told the Rapids Podcast on Thursday. "And we've done it for a reason."

The No. 1 ranking gives the Rapids first dibs at signing one of 23 players currently on MLS' player allocation list, should that player choose to come to MLS. The list includes U.S. national team players currently abroad, and former MLS players who were transferred out of the league for at least a half-million dollar fee.

"There's a lot of players on that list that can bring real quality to our organization, our club and our fan base," Bravo said.

Howard is probably the most high profile on that list and seeing as they have just lost a keeper, the rumours are gathering. Who comes up with this 'player allocation list'?

. . .

The list is the list. Nobody "comes up" with it, unless you mean the guy who looks to see which US National team players are playing abroad and which former MLS players had transfer fees of $500,000 or more.

In the games I remember, Howard was terrible against Liverpool, Man U, Arsenal all crosses in the six yard box not dealt with and Bournemouth, Chelsea, Stoke, Leicester all scoring freely. The fact that results have been getting worse shows that its Martinez's problem and all he's done is sit on his hands hoping it will turn around. It's not going to turn around if every team is exposing you. It's one thing to believe in a 'philosophy' its another to actually recognize its not working and fixing it. There's got to be 10-12 points there that we could easily have won.

Yes. Been saying it for a while.
Where does that leave us on the table?
