I take it you're referring to when Howard first signed for us, but isn't it to be expected there would be doubts over a keeper who some perceived (rightly or wrongly) to have been rejected by Man U.
It's an internet forum, and posters tend to express their pleasure or displeasure in extremes. When a player performs well, they're the dog's gonads. When a player performs poorly they're crap (remember the "Neymar is crap thread"?) and certain people will use something like a Man U connection in a kind of "...and another thing" way. Yes, it's ridiculous, but it doesn't happen if a player's doing well.
The forum dates back to 2007.
He's received dogs abuse for years on here.
Even when he was at the top of his game the second he let's in a soft goal he gets slated. It's always been that way. Just look at a few recent posts. 'He was bang average at United therefore he's always been bang average'.
His first few seasons here he was much better than bang average. I do think we need to improve this position going forward as he is past his best.
I see the people on here who are anti Howard are sympathetic to extremists in other threads. You have it in for him because he is from the country of the world police.

Pretty much every player gets abuse on here. Look at the abuse Osman has received over the years. Even Barkley gets abuse. It's a footie forum and fans like to vent in the extreme.

He's been throwing the ball into his own goal every other game for the past two years. Him saving some shots for USA in a game that they lost anyway doesn't change that.

Most people on here take him being American into account and go easy on his utter crapness. A real, British goalkeeper this bad would be slaughtered for it.

I don't give a toss if he plays well for the USA persoanlly, I don't support the USNMT. I support Everton and what players do in Everton shirts is what's really important to me and for the past 18 months he has been utter turd and cost us so many points. Sod his "stats" or whatever, stats shouldn't be how you judge a footballer, you judge them on what you see them doing with your eyes. For all of last season and all of this season so far I've watched him make the same mistakes over and over and at his age he's never going to get any better. It's time for him to be replaced and Martinez needs to stop being a delusional fanny on the topic.
