That type of arrogance does him no favours when surely even he realises how poor he's been this season and last season.

I have backed him at times when he deserved criticism due to understanding that a keeper can be the single point of failure - even the very best make mistakes.

But - I'm sorry, where has this attitude come from? does he still think the USA vs Belgium game was yesterday or something?

With an attitude like that to the press it makes you think how he behaves around Robles - no doubt he tries to mentally dominate his rival. I would like to sit his arrogant heavy backside down and show him his Peter Shilton "lead boots" impersonations against Liverpool and Arsernal... quite frankly embarrassing. He didn't act the alpha male against Ings, Giroud and Koscielny

He certainly seems to be a big personality - far too big for his boots is what I would say. Time to get rid, thanks Tim - whilst you've been a decent keeper many of us were lucky to watch Southall and Martyn and you are no where near that level.

Before the recent interviews I had no idea he had such a smug personality. Makes you wonder if because he's also a senior squad member he's not having a poisonous affect on the dressing room at times. Surely the other players - especially defenders - must look at him and think "what the Hell is he doing there?" and say something?

Nothing more pitiful than seeing a keeper concede a goal and look at the floor knowing full well he can't have a go at his defenders for exposing him. Maybe at that moment we would get a more humble interview from Tim.

I'm really peeved at him, how dare he say "criticism from the fans means nothing" - clearly he hasn't truly got on the wrong side of the Everton fans - "yet". Because when he does he will know what it means. This is one step in that direction, he would have been better sgutting his mouth after costing us at least 3 points.

In my prime match-going years, so really hope I can witness a real goalkeeper at Everton before too long and not have to put up with his smug grid for the next 3 years

I watched my first game in 1984 (we beat forest 5-0) - since Southall my expectations of keepers are kinda high despite the fact that I have seen some dross like Paul Gerrard, Richard Wright - with Nigel martyn reinstalling those high levels of expectations.

A prime Southall would command £60m - a prime Martyn £30m.

In the full interview on Fox Sports he laughed at the English fans knowledge of goal keeping saying they are limited to say the least and even the number one England keeper makes more mistakes than him. He is full of it.
Wow.

He's heaping a lot of pressure on himself prior to this Villa game. He better be able to back this tough talking up.

I heard Aldo backed him up on this as well, especially singling out 'der bitterz' as having the worst knowledge of all football fans

That says it all if Aldo thinks hes good - as I would want him in the reds goal for a few more seasons as he is way past his best!
The sooner he steps down the better these games v lower clubs is where he seems to make his mistakes e,g, struggling Leicester last year at home, should have been instantly dropped after that game lost us 2 points single handed by not using his hands to catch simple crosses!
He had a mare of a season yet is un-drop-able!
