Tim Howard

Again, eleven corners and thirteen shots conceded against a team with only three attackers. What's unreal about calling that out as a poor performance?

Are you having a laugh? They offered nothing going forward. The defence totally snuffed out both forwards all game. Sturridge was non existent.
How many of these 13 shots were a threat to our goal ? Howard had one save in each half to make and both were comfortable saves which any goalie should make.
Its totally illogical and unjust to say our defence was shocking. Your probably running on emotions from us not beating a god awful liverpool team.

The root to that lies firmly at the hands of Tim Howard. An utter disgrace he doesnt claim that cross. No one around him. In his six yard area. Its pathetic and it keeps happening .
The man isnt good enough. He never has been. So many weaknesses in his game.
Suspect at crosses. Suspect at long shots. Irrational decision making. Lack of leadership. Poor kicker. Poor distribution.

He put an inexperienced defence, of whom two making there derby debut, two there full Premiership home debut under immense pressure with his decision making and weaknesses on display today.

Massive decision going forward for the management to make. For me its our most problematic position.

Joel looked superb in his mini run and ideally Id like him to be given the season to see if he merits number 1 status. But if there is a realistic proven Premiership class goalie available Id make it a priority transfer.

Well his mistake on that corner put the top hat on it Doug as I thought he did ok till that vital changer by him not anyone else's Doug! It's a weakness Doug - I feel he is scared of getting clattered in an Ariel duals suspected for seasons now you hang to admit Doug how many times have I pointed it out, if Robles had done the same today I would be blaming him!
I believe this to
He's scared of getting hurt
Look at Gerard's free kick goal in last years Derby his eyes move to the post before he touches the ball

And how often does he end up in the back of his net when diving across

Also goalie's are so protected by ref's he would be better off flying out at corners and free kicks

You are right he is scared and thats his problem no bottle

Had we won the game you wouldn't feel the need to look towards your go to scapegoat guy from a disappointing result.

It's a bit weird this obsession you have with nitpicking Howard and totally over looking the shocking defending in front of him.

i was having a go at him after west brom.

Nah mate.

Howard is just a player that is constantly under the microscope with fans like you waiting to pull him apart after every disappointing result. He's the go to guy.

You won't look at the ref bottle job, the ref biased behaviour yet again, that we were toothless at the other end but rather look for your go to guy despite it being a pathetic attempted defensive header by another player.

Barkley is 100% to blame for that goal. Loses his man and then jumps too early.

Pot meet kettle when it comes to Lukaku though surely mate?

New keeper needs to be a priority next summer, Tim's served us well but his decision making is at times nothing short of baffling. He's either rooted to his line refusing to come out and claim or he's so far out of his goal it's simple for the opposition to knock it round him. And don't get me started on him getting beat at his near post!

i loved the bit where he made a slide tackle in his own box instead of using his hand and stopping a corner.
Graham Souness commented at half time on that point he came out much further with his feet with a slide tackle to save a goal yet could not attempt to catch the corner from an unmarked Ings 5 yards away?
He was struggling to come to terms with it , but unfortunately its a Howard the coward trait, He just seems scared to go with his hands at 6.2 ifeet tall to collect or punch a ball, last 2 games 2 corners 2 goals conceded - our defence was very good today - its every time we concede a corner its like giving a free kick way on the edge of our box - if this continues Robles needs a run in the team imo!

Tim has greatly improved on last season's pathetic excuse for a season and I think when he takes a look at that goal today he's going to have to hold his hands up and say that's his to claim.

Terrible non decision to simply walk forward 4 yards and pluck the ball out of the air. The West Brom one was just about forgivable as at least that had a bit of pace on it bit that one today was bloody awful.

Might be an idea to pop Ross on a post or tell him to sod off out the box as he's been done twice now not getting tight to his man.
