Doug TH was OK until the goal for goodness sake stop moving the main argument around!

Did mean to Joe, I was just being honest. I thought he looked nervous and that sliding challenge on Milner was very risky and could easily have been a penalty. Also the way he didn't collect a simple through ball for Ings and kicked it out for a corner didn't instil confidence.

Let's step back a bit here -- our defenders (bar Jagielka) were shocking today: conceding 11 corners and 14 shots to a team with only three attacking players in the lineup. Yeah, Howard could have done better on the goal, as could Barkley, but the bigger problem is that we exposed him way too much in the match. Generally if a team faces that much pressure in their defensive end, you expect them to concede three or four goals, so the idea that Howard is somehow solely responsible for costing us two points by not claiming that cross is ridiculous. He certainly didn't have the best match of his career, but taken overall he probably was one of the better performers on the day. Hell, he made more tackles than Tyias Browning.

Come on Louie I'm saying its Barkleys mistake, not absolving all players of blame. I've said earlier that I thought Howard was poor in the first half, just not responsible for the goal.
We've had this conversation before mate , sometimes its debatable ...today (& monday) it isnt.
As a close family red said to me earlier "Howard gave us a point ,Mingolet saved yous two today" .

How does he know Barkley has it?

So tell me this mate if a keeper, who can use his hands which makes it much easier, see's that he can easily take the ball since its in his 6 yard box, why would you stay on the line? Surely you help your defence out!

You seem think I am not annoyed about the marking cause I am but Howard should just deal with the situation in front of him. Simple as that!
Answer these questions

Is it a totally free header for Barkley?
Did he fail to clear the corner unchallenged?
Who was Naismith marking?

The pendulum is swinging in such a way that people are being too defensive of Howard in certain situations. Could have done more, but so could others and I put it down to a general miscommunication between an unfamiliar back 4. Should have had Kone in the box, heading it out.

I can't be arsed talking to you mate now as you won't listen at all! I have said many times ffs that Barkley should do much better so I have basically answered most of them questions. I ain't happy about it either! You constantly fail to see and realise that Howard should deal with a ball in his 6 yard box which would happen before Barkely wins any header or not. The fact you think Howard hasn't done anything wrong in this situation is mind boggling!

mate this is the popular defence of howard. what about everybody else?

there can be more than one person at fault, it doesn't make howard inexcusable. every other keeper in the prem would have come and claimed that corner. it's a carbon copy of WBA's 2nd. obviously barkley was at fault for losing his marker, nobody is not blaming barkley, they're just saying howard is also at fault.

The sliding challenge by Howard was fantastic. His only big mistake from this game was his reluctance to punch it out. You can't trust your players when the ball is that close to your goal I'm sorry.

?? where do you even start?

Our makeshift defence was so bad they conceded so many corners and pressure they they only let one goal in??
