Tim Howard

Thought it was all Barkley at first, but watching the replays it is Howard too. How many points does he have to cost us before we replace?

If Howard does his job there like any other keeper does then Barkley doesn't even need to win the header. It's more Howard's fault for not coming for a simple catch or punch. Barkley does have to take a little bit of the blame for not winning the header when Howard doesn't.

Think some on here are over critical of him but he was undoubtedly poor on their goal. Yes, Barkley is obviously at fault as well, but Howard has to do more there.

As you can clearly see that no a reflection of how the corner starts. When the balls first played in Barkley and Ings are pinning Howard to his line. It's the sort of tactic you see at every corner in every game.

I see.

So the keeper should be anticipating that sort of tactic.

Barkley partly culiple - but its a good cross and anticipating crosses isnt his game.

Goalkeeping however, is Howards and he definitely should have read a cross that lands 6 yards from his goalline and come for it.

So for me, bad mistake from Howard, Barkley could do better.

Going over the replay.
That's where the criticism is coming from Mike.

Nobody stops a free header from that range.

So why is Howard staying on his line?...

A cross in that area and your keeper absolutely has to be coming for it.
Corners have been problems for us the past couple of years both taking and receiving. I will re watch the incident and hopefully gain a better perspective.
