World class keep dont you know!

As for Howard today, lets teams have the amount of chances City had today and eventually one goes in, dosen't matter who is in goal, keep knocking on the door and at some point ones going in the onion bag, time and time again we let City do what they want, 9 shots on Target against our 1?

Well that's the difference between okay players and great players, it shouldn't be a matter of when, each shot should be saved on merit. That was terrible from Howard today.

I got a good photo of him today:

If only he had did the Starfish today we wouldn't have let the second goal in :(

Nobody's saying he's a great player, though. Stop getting upset at him because he's not De Gea or Neuer. He's a guy we got for £3 million eight years ago, for crying out loud.

You just don't get beaten from this angle. No excuses. No matter how the rest of the team plays, this sort of basic error costs you 2 points.

This x 100.

Howard's game today will not be defined by the good saves he made but by the calamitous errors which were the difference between gaining a point and us being beaten.

Y'all are being way too hard on him. Yeah, that first goal was inexcusable but it could have easily been 5-0 they way they sliced up our back four. But I'm american so maybe I'm biased. I think he's a great goalkeeper

"For crying out loud."

lol

I'm not upset, it's football soft lad, he should just be doing a better job, for the last 3 years now.

Keep settling for mid table players though, for crying out loud lol

He was boss two years ago mate...on of his best in a blue shirt.

Last year he defo had a mare...he seems more up for it this one, but yeah...that first goal was defo all on him today...he guessed wrong. Could have done better on the second I suppose, but not totally at fault.

He was having a good game up until the first goal, which was very poor from him.

Another error that's cost us a crucial goal. Add that to the truckload he cost us last season (highest number for a keeper in the league, I think it was).

It's a shame as I quite like him and would love him to do well and have another season like 13/14. He's just not all that though. He'll do until we can afford to spend on a keeper like.

Thing is, with keepers this line gets trotted out a fair bit, and it's true, it's not because the ball has to go through 10 other players before it gets to Howard having to do his part.

The problem is, he doesn't. To me, it's like saying when a striker misses a penalty that he wasn't totally at fault. Might be a strange logic, but every player has their job on the field, Tim's is to stop the ball when it his time, and on a regular basis he is failing at his job.

Not gonna argue with you mate...I get what you are saying.

My only point is that he made seven saves...we could have been down 1-0 from the start pretty much. The first two were total reaction saves...and both were very good.

He will be kicking himself for the first goal. He cheated for the cross and paid dearly.

I agree, I guess we just need him to make 8 saves. Harsh maybe, but.
