Yeah, he was expecting the pass to come to him at pace. When he saw it was trickling towards him at walking speed, then he came back towards it. Well too late, and part of Howard's problem is definitely that he's too slow to recognize situations like that.

Howard screwed up there, no question. It's this idea that everything was his fault that's ludicrous. Stones hung him out to dry with a terrible pass, and he didn't deal well with the situation. Lloris or Neuer probably would have dealt beautifully with it. A slightly quicker reacting keeper would probably have recognized that Ayew would get there first and backed off, but then Ayew would have been in on goal all alone.

It isn't that ludicrous. Robles is average and we look a different team whenever he plays.

Agreed, but to be fair, that would only put us on, what, 8 wins, 13 draws, 4 defeats wouldn't it, out of 23 games? About 35%

Still not stellar, but an improvement.

Overall, he'd be the most obvious quick improvement I've seen since Britney Spears' boob job

This is it.....its not just mistakes, its absolutely bizarre decision making.

That goal is on him completely for me, and is almost as bizarre as those couple of times he came flying out to slide tackle in the box when he could have gone in and claimed it with his hands. Cant remember what games they were in...one was possibly the derby.

Only if the results draw us to the relegation zone, which can be said of any manager - Jose included. We're too good for all that though.
