Tim Howard

What do you expect him to say lads? If he's doing an interview he's going to say positive things, that's the nature of professional sport.

Personally I wish we had another keeper in goal, not necessarily Robles. However if the manager picks Howard then he's our keeper and we have to back him until another keeper is brought in.

It's difficult to back him when the mistakes are so constant. He will have my, and all our, support today though. As you say he's our player we have to support him. But it would be nice if he rewarded that support.

As for what he should have said, well a bit of humility wouldn't go amiss.

Fine line between confidence and arrogance. Tim has shown a lot more of the latter.

Funny that though. Make a player undroppable regardless of form, and he gets a bit big-headed. Who woulda thunk it.

Totally agree with this. His arrogance and lack of humility is starting to really get on my nerves. It's okay coming across as arrogant when your on top of your game, but when your clearly not and are still giving it the big one, you just end alienating the fans and set yourself up for one almighty fall.

I think Tim is quite a complex character and I think he needs to have belief in himself and for others to have that belief, hence Martinez' apparent unshakeable belief in him. Clearly Martinez does not believe Robles is yet the solution to our keeping problems so we have to go with what we have. That being the case the club has to do everything to support Howard, however at odds with reality it may appear.

I genuinely hope he has the game of his life today, but if he has another " flappy " day I fear a major fume coming and quite a lot of questions coming his way from the press too.

He wants to be having the games of his life against the likes of Arse and ManU, not Sunderland.

He should have knack all to do today, if we play as we should.

I thought Robles was excellent on Tuesday. Tim Howard has looked dreadful recently and this is a game where the opposition will mostly play percentage high cross football in the hope of a ball dropping kindly for them (see both goals last year). As mentioned previously, Martinez is putting so much faith in Tim, it could cost him his job if he fails to improve.

Just get injured you creep
