I don't see it. None of our defenders are very good in the air and they all have a tendency to give the ball away in dangerous areas (not to mention concede an ungodly number of corners). I have no doubt that Stones and Galloway and possibly Browning will be excellent defenders in a few years time, but they aren't right now.

Gone beyond Howard now. There's literally no point criticising him. He's not going to turn it around or improve his form, he's been useless for about 4 seasons. The blame is on the manager who keeps picking him.

I'm not trying to defend Howard -- he had a terrible match today and is clearly the worst regular starter on the club. People thinking a new keeper will win us the league need to take a step back and think clearly for a second, though.

You're not trying to defend Howard, you're just blaming everyone else.

In past Tim was brilliant and poor at times. Now he's poor and brilliant at times. Robles is even worse. That set of goalies is soly martinez fault.

Anybody who thinks that we'd be the best defensive team in the league with a different keeper, which seems to be the majority of the people posting here.

We're 14th in the league in shots conceded. More than 14 allowed per match. Top defensive teams don't do that, no matter who's in goal. We'd definitely be a better team with Cech or De Gea, but we still wouldn't be in the class of Arsenal or United.
