Tim Howard

I think it is a crisis of confidence and as a result his presence in the penalty area has reduced to almost nothing. Unless the ball is hit directly at him or very close then there's little prospect of him saving, but more importantly there's no command of his box nor increasingly little communication with his defenders.

Can he recover his confidence? Don't know but he needs time out to see if he can.

So he's not in control of his box.

Not so sure. For me the defenders need to do more to stop the free header than the keeper in this incident.

It wasn't a good day all round and we've been narrowly beaten, in fact should have probably had a draw, but we can't just keep blaming Howard and ignore other faults going on in my opinion.

Even the Americans are turning on Howard, never liked him could make a DVD with his errors on it and it would last quite a long time

since the cup final in 09 I've detested him. That's a long time to detest an Everton player. Needs dropping ASAP instead he will probably get the captains armband.

Usually I sit a bit more on the fence with each error, but not this one Doug, yep there's 10 players ahead of him who should be stopping the ball get to that position but ultimately he's the boss of that area and has failed in his duty quite spectacularly. He is also a defender, one with a pair of hands he can also use. This result is solely on Howard for me, and I don't like to single anyone out unless its Osman, the snidey grass.

Martinez spoke about him in the post match interview: “I think we can defend better. A goalkeeper with the experience Tim has will be disappointed with that.”
