Tim Howard

No its blatantly obvious that Joel played four games, kept three clean sheets and the game against West Ham where he conceded he kept us in the game, made countless saves and was the reason we made it to penalties that night. Robles should be starting, that shouldn't even be up for debate. As mentioned before Howard has been fantastic for us but he is simply making too many mistakes now.

That's why I am laughing at your post...basing him on 4 games as the obvious choice is silly.

I do think Joel deserves a run out...but it's not obvious by any stretch he is the better keeper. Hope he does well though.

People just judge a player off the last couple of games it seems. Howard has flaws, he gets beat from range too often and can make rash decisions. However, the back 4 generally look more comfortable with him in net (yes today was awful in that respect) as he commands his area fairly well.

But I take the point that Howard is only going to get worse from here and Robles will only get better. When/If we get ourselves in a safe position in the league I'd think about giving Robles games where possible. But in the Europa I'd want the best team out, which includes Howard.

Absolute shocking lack of communication to stones for that first and typical calamity on cross for second . I'd bin him for a while at least and also get Marshall in in summer. Circa 8m I think

Tim Howard must have incriminating pictures of his manager
The decision to instantly axe Joel Robles after three successive clean sheets was an eyebrow raising one.

But after four goals conceded in three games back, Tim Howard’s recall now looks simply baffling.

Punches or parries to opposition feet have resulted in three of those goals, while the other saw him wave helplessly at a shot which sailed over his head in Berne.

The comfortable 4-1 lead over Young Boys gives Roberto Martinez an excuse to recall Robles on Thursday. He shouldn’t need one.

Even Prentice is off the fence on this one

Joel should be our number 1, It upsets me that some people think otherwise

Don't get upset that people on the interwebs disagree with you.

I wouldn't annoint him as our clear #1 just yet mate...but I do think he deserves to play.

I'd like to see how he bounces back from a bad performance or two before deciding if he has a future woth the club.

Really not getting upset, Its just differences in opinions which is what the sites all about. I would love Howard to prove me wrong, he's been 1st class since he joined us bet this season he's simply made too many mistakes which have cost us and I think the fella on the bench is more worthy of a place in the starting 11

How can the best team really include Howard? Also, I don't know what games you've been watching but the team certainly do not look more comfortable with Howard in goal.
