Of course hes open to criticism, hes been [Poor language removed] all season. Its not scapegoating

Is it pure scapegoating when fans try and blame Howard for games we lose or goals we concede when in reality he didnt do anything wrong, there has been some real classics on this forum this season, ranging from he should of got closer to the penalty at Man City to it somehow being his fault we conceded at Old Trafford.

Erm

For some reason throughout his time I think our fans have only half liked him.

.....funny how fans take to certain players and not to others. Bottom line for me is that Howard was a fine signing and has been a fine servant. Robles might have deserved to keep his place but RM thought otherwise. Managers are judged on winning/losing so it's down to the boss.

If he was pulling off world class saves every game and hadn't conceded in 10 you'd be saying how good he is. But instead you criticise him just because he is playing crap and conceding loads.

Bad scapegoater.

Honestly, that is where I think fans get frustrated with him. He is capable of and has made world class saves for us on many occassions. That said, even at his best he's capable of a bad mistake.

On the balance he's been very good for us over the years...not the best we've had, but that's more about some of the great keepers we've had in the past.
