Tim Howard

This conversation is tiresome. Some will blame him for every goal whether or not he's at fault which is the most annoying part of it all. Moses' goal yesterday was just a brilliant header. Call it what it is. The second, he probably overplayed his near post, but had he given up anything there you'd be slating him just the same.

We can all agree he's having a horrible season, and he should be on the bench until he shows he can be better. Robles did nothing to lose his place once he was settled. Sell him in the summer, and it probably works out for everyone. The end.

the stats that show he's got 6 clean sheets you mean.

there's lots to have a go at Howard for, you dont need to make things up

haha jesus christ. you can't say people are "making things up" when they're using the correct stats. You're just altering them to try and suit your defence because if we're comparing league form like as was pointed out - howard's stats are ridiculous. they don't even paint the whole picture either. they don't state how he lets simple shots like gerrard's and soldado's go through him; they don't state how he's always rooted to his line when crosses come into the 6 yard box; they also don't state how he's stood about 8 yards off his line making it easy for players to curl the ball around him from outside the box; they don't state how every single game he slices a backpass out of play for a throw in; and they don't state how howard thinks it's a good idea to lump long balls to all 5 ft 5 of aaron lennon on regular basis.

howard's always been a great shot stopper but severely lacking in every other department. this season he's barely made a top class save and is letting the most simplest of shots in and his woefulness has spread to the rest of the defence, all the games since he's been back have illustrated it even more so than was evident pre-injury.

robles has so much more attributes to his all round game which would benefit us.

surely that's as good an indicator than anything that his positional awareness is poor?
