Tim Howard

haha jesus christ. you can't say people are "making things up" when they're using the correct stats. You're just altering them to try and suit your defence because if we're comparing league form like as was pointed out - howard's stats are ridiculous.
.

the fact this post has got so many likes is indicative of where this thread is at.

I didnt alter the stats to suit "my defence" i used the stats of all howards games, i didnt pick and choose i used every single game.

it was clearly stated appearances for Everton not league games so once again lets stop making things up there really is no need to but it keeps happening.

It's a tricky one the Howard thing. His mistakes have been pretty much indifensible. But at the same time he's made saves (often in the same matches) that have saved us certain goals.

He's a condemed man currently among the majority of the fan base. So any good he does will be forgot instantly, any bad highlighted.

Had he not played we'd still be where we are. Robles would of just made different mistakes at different times.

The reality is that neither are top 4 GK's. We need to go out and spend like 10M on a begovic or simlar.

It's just personal opinion which you pick at the mo. Think bobby's got a lot more problems he needs to address other than just the GK's.

It can't be a coincidence that everything in front of him went to water when returned either. I'm sure it didn't help that his return coincided with him single-handedly costing us a win against Leicester, but with Robles in goal the defence was stronger and no rubbish goals were going in.

Maybe it is a coincidence, or maybe Howard is a really bad goalkeeper.

I think realistically it is a coincidence on the whole. Having said that he was solely responsible for that Leicester mess.

Ya see, I don't understand how you state that as fact when the facts are he was improving game by game and had kept 3 clean sheets on the spin...... it's a ludicrous assumption to make mate.

I'd say when your goalkeeper is costing you around 8-10 points and not winning you any then it becomes a matter of priority to sort it out. I've said my piece on Howard a million times so I'm not going to repeat it but defence starts from the back and it's key that there's an understanding between keeper and defence. Currently, there is an understanding of about 6% between Howard and the back 4. I don't blame Howard either, I blame the manager who saw fit to bring him.back in at the quickest opportunity.

You don't know there is a lack of understanding. That's your take on things. You don't know that Robles wouldn't of cost us points too. Maybe in different circumstances and different games. And you are ignoring all the good saves Howard makes. Chelsea could of been 3 up if not for Howard's saves before he was questionably blamed for the last min goal.

I'm not fully defending Howard here. The Leicester game and others he's made some horrendous errors. It's just not as simple as being made out that Howard's inclusion is the reason for our perils.

Either way we need a new top draw keeper imo.

dind ding ding we have a winner

not one GK coach would have a keeper catching a ball over a group players like that.

And equally no keeper should make a duff punch causing uncertainty and increasing risk.

If you can't keep catch it, stay on your line and deal with what happens next.

Ding Dong some people cannot even see a crap goalie even when he plays crap most every game.

Ossie throwing his support behind Howard today

"It's been a tough season personally, and for the squad as a whole. I think to single out one individual is wrong and some of the comments about Tim have been unfair. I'd urge the fans to get behind him and get off his back a little and we'll see the very best of him again in the run up to the end of the season."

Lets have a vote on his worst performance.

In my book, it would be Palace at home closely followed by Leicester.

When in fact has he played well this season?
