Tim Howard

Since his wonder game in the World cup for the USA a certain Alan shearer pointed that out diving low down before the ball was kicked - two bad mistakes by him today - the first shot had no power he should have punched it away towards the corner flag - the 2nd goal he was on his way down to his backside when he was beaten from the near post angled shot!
Chech on a free in Jan would be a good move!

as is always the case. did it for wood's late equaliser at leicester. costa's 6th at goodison was the same. could go on and on, a lot of people here have noticed it. he dives away from the ball falling to one side leaving a big between his legs and an even bigger gap between his sides and arms.

The first goal is the killer for me. He's simply got to do better there. It wasn't even a clear chance or a decent shot. Very poor goalkeeping in my opinion. We were comfortable before that and the longer Spurs were behind the more they lose confidence etc.

it was their first shot, they hadn't had a touch in anger, we were well onto the way to a comfortable 3 points. i don't care if it was only 20 mins in. the only way spurs were getting into the game would be a mistake from one of ours. it's another 3 points he's cost us to go with about 10 before today.

if liverpool are going to jump on mignolet's back, i'd glady swap him for howard. think he's a good keeper just out of form.
I agree I think Mignolet is ok, he doesn't come out into the box to dominate and stays near his line
He can save shots though, except for super Jags shots of course

howard has never commanded his box either. their both shot stoppers at the end of the day and not a lot more. i thought mignolet was a lot better than he actually is before he went to the RS, he's definitely better than howard though.

like ijjy says, we won't win anything with howard - doubt we'd win anything with mignolet either, but there are plenty of better alternatives out there.=, despite the ovverally standard of world football not being too great.

cech could be the same as eto'o's turned out, could be worth the risk.

He'd cost a few bob but I agree with you I think he could be the new Nigel Martyn

Howard is much better than Mignolet, however I haven't a clue what he was doing with that shot today, it looked a simple catch to me.

He's just average and that's the bottom line. We can't afford a top top keeper who makes saves that win you massive games like De Gea does, but there must be plenty of keepers out there who can do the basics and just do a competent job because besides the games against Wolfsburg, he's been dreadful. His distribution isn't ideal at all either, along with his non existent commanding of his box. A keeper must be a priority at some point, ship him to the MLS while he's still got a price on his head.
