Tim Howard

Always had the Yobo gene.
Peaked in the World cup = Swansong
Retired physically from International Games
Retired mentally ( whether he knows it or not ) from being a top class Goalie.

Before he had a small spell out injured, he was like this, his replacement ( Mucha?) did OK-ish, when Howard came back he upped it a bit.
He's a deadman walking

Robles can't be any worse...can he?

Wouldn't normally make this call, but I think we should sell him (even though I'm not sure he'd want to go).

When you aren't loaded, you need to exploit transfer market inefficiencies. There are two going on with Howard. One is he is a full-on celebrity in the US. An MLS team would pay over the odds for him - they'd get huge numbers of new fans, kit sold, etc, and he's got at least 5 more years of football in him yet. The other is that goalkeepers are cheap as dirt for how much they add to the team. Courtois cost Chelsea £8m ffs. Navas cost Real Madrid the same. The difficulty is, of course, that there are a lot less around, so it's not quite that straightforward, but if the opportunity were to arise...I might be way off, but we could maybe sell him for £3m and spend only £5m more on a top-class mid-twenties goalkeeper to grow with the rest of the young side.

Honestly... At the moment I'd rather play @MoutsGoat 's mar in goal.... And she's deffo not a keeper by any standards

Really poor form right now (although I won't blame him for the goal today as our defense had plenty of time to react and cover) but our problem is that Robles isn't the best. In short, we need another quality GK to push or replace Howard.

I've always hated him, made numerous clangers in derby matches. The final against Chelsea when Lampard scored, the howler against Blackburn on an opening day game 2010?? and many more. Frazer Forster would have been an excellent buy instead of giving Howard a new contract.Fergie got rid of him because he wasn't good enough and I haven't been convinced since. Distribution must be among the worst in the league imo.

Robles hasn't looked great recently herein lies the problem

So many ridiculous claims in this thread. He wasn't to blame for the goal. Was it a bad clearance, yes. Unnecessary, yes. But there were 5 blue shirts around Falcoa and everyone switched off and let him score. Just a few months ago everyone was saying how [Poor language removed] Robles is and we actually need a good backup. Now he should start cause Howard sucks. GTFO! Some of the stuff said on here is laughable.

Howard has made a few mistakes this season and he needs to be better along with everyone else on the team. It is a collective effort and not one person is to blame.

This is true, that pass should never even of got to Falcoa, who was picking him up? No one, but Howard gets the blame. Shame Osman wasnt around at the time so he could of been blamed as well i guess.

Looked like an absolute clown today.

Don't really know why he's getting so much stick. No chance with the first goal. He shouldn't have been kicking the ball from out there in the build up to the second but it's not like a United player smashed it back in. He was back in his goal by then and the big problem was the complete lack of pressure on the ball. Couple that with Stones being too deep/Jagielka ball watching and Howard was left helpless.
