He was. He always has been gash at commanding his area.
Not many are like Neuer or Lloris who love playing sweeper style, but Howard has never been any good at coming for things, whether in the air or balls on the floor which a defender clearly wants him to collect. I'm pulling (what's left of) my hair out every week when you see Jags shepherding the ball into the area with a striker closing the gap, and TH is hesitating.

He didn't do much wrong on Sunday apart from not come for a few crosses I thought he could have, but that's the first time since his return he's been blameless in a goal against.

As I'm now scouting for new keepers, i just watched every goal from today's prem games. According to the comments in this thread the keeper is directly and solely at fault for every one except potentially N'Doye's.

I'm not defending Howard, but a lot of the goalkeeping in the premiership right now is dire.

Defending? Clearly we need to sign Pantillimon since he's the only one that didn't personally gift the other team a goal. Ah but wait there was that cockup at the weekend when he pushed the ball to Rooney's feet for United's second. Damn that's 6 keepers we can't sign. 13 more for me to scout. I'll report back on the next crop tomorrow.

I've already said we should sell Howard in the summer. Admittedly he's been poor all season. That's why we need to be prepared. I'm helping us find our super human replacement.

well, I am a big, big fan of President Obama. He is such a strong leader. And if he thinks Timmy is the US secretary of defence, I will not say a bad word against our bearded fortress.

Super human would be nice but basic competence would be acceptable.

With a lower league placing and less TV appearance money, there won't be too much cash available. I expect the chap to stay as R M will have other priorities in his mind. It would be comical if it weren't so sad.
