Tim Howard

At this point in his career he is at the cusp of being great and being average each week and that inconsistency is the reason i think there are so many flames each week.

I with you on this one. The defence making errors is one thing, but a top keeper should be there save the defenders. Too many times Howards just got it wrong and we instantly look at the defenders and blame them.

Look at United. Their defence is rubbish, but look at how good Richard De' Gear is, and because of him they're 3rd.

I love Tim. I think he's a fantastic blue and a good prem level keeper in bad form.

Even if Tim was in the form of his life, if the club could get a better player for a good within budget price, they should.
I'd say that of any player of any nationality in any position.

No one is above what's best for the club.

Err......

The reason why goalies punch crosses is because it is statistically much safer than trying to catch a cross 10 feet in the air while being contested.

When has Howard cost us points besides the Crystal Palace game?
Spurs? He saves a one on one and an unmarked player gets a rebounds.
Man U? He doesn't kick a ball out of bounds and 20 touches later it goes in after poor defending?
Liverpool? Doesn't save a free kick from one of the best in the business and any one with a brain would have known it was going in before it was taken... Same with Sunderland.

Soccer is a team game, only people who don't know what that is like point blame at individuals.

please come off it, those are awful excuses.

it's no surprise that only yanks are coming to his defence at the moment. we're all blues at the end of the day, people on here aren't trying to create a divide between fans, but you guys need to take off the one eyes specs.

everton have had plenty of welsh players and it's really easy not to try and defend them to the hilt. for example, southall was an everton and welsh legend - one of our best apparently and was one of my faveourite players when i first started following everton. i can still shrug off my nationality and say that that lad doesn't really have a clue about football with the comments/views he comes out with these days.

Just finished his book.

Good read 7/10.

Reading about his divorce from his wife wasn't very comfortable.

Do think he will leave by his own choice before his contracts up though.

About time too, been a very good servant but time to move on now.

That was quick.

Anything of note?

in the 13/14 accounts borrowing increased by £1m, its in black and white in the accounts. Im not too concerned with what Elstone says its only the accounts that can be trusted. No figure of borrowing goes down by more then £4m so i really dont see how £10m has been paid off.

Its page 43 in the accounts if you'd like to have a look before spouting this nonsense again

The headline figures I have seen tell me that net debt reduced from £45.3m in 2012/13 to £28.1m in 2013/14.

At this point in his career he's a solid not great keeper. Plays some amazing games but will make a few bad mistakes every once and a while to.

Net debt is not borrowing, borrowing increased by £1m.

Net debt is Debt - money in the bank.

Do the maths £45.3 + ~£1m = £46m

£46m - £18m (cash in hand) = £28m (net debt figure)

As I've said mate it's all in the accounts, we didn't pay any debt off in fact we borrowed more money.

That was the philosophy of the Labouir Government under Blair and Brown.

Lol, I don't care that he is American and I am not some alt trying to piss people off. I don't understand when people say "sure his numbers are good but so what." Numbers don't lie over the course of a long career. He has the records for most saves in the World Cup and europa league.

Over the past 2 months Gareth Barry, etoo and Barkley have been our worst players by a mile. Yet I don't see the British poster getting upset. And rightly so, no reason to blame individuals.
