Tim Cahill's autobiography

Also had a pain killing injection before more than half the games he played in the 12/13 season. Put his body on the line for our club, probably while the likes of you were slagging him off for being 'finished'.

Cahill was a fantastic servant of our club and continues to be a fan to this day. Deserves nothing but respect in my eyes.
Undoubtedly he gave his all on the pitch. However, he still joined in with his manager to back up Kenwright and attack fans for wanting the best for the club. In fact, the leaked emails of Ian Ross revealed that the CEO was pushing to use Cahill to produce a newspaper piece stating he believed the club wasn't stagnating - which was duly delivered a few days later. Cahill chose the cosy clique over the actual club itself....and it didn't go unnoticed.

I recall that Dave, all a case of knowing which side of the bread is buttered.

Great servent and was a great player for us but my god he's doing my head in on twitter. Everton should deploy him as a pr manager

Didn't think it would take long before someone had a pop at Martinez (in a thread about Tim Cahill's book) but wasn't expecting it to be the first post.

Were you surprised? I wasn't. Maybe that wasn't the intention of the OP, who did say about Cahill's relationship with Moyes, Cabeye and picked a page about Moyes endlessly training them defensively. I wonder if Cahill would be impressed with us only conceding 9 goals away from home due I suppose to the endless defensive training before away games?

A pop at Martinez was a given. I thought the OP was being a bit mischievous with the bit he picked out about Moyes.

Never. Didn't notice that myself. How many pages does Tim's book have? I thought with only one extract it must be a very short biography. I will try and get it so as to be able to read it when I am on the train going down to Wembley on the 29th. Have you read it?

We got my lad it for Christmas, apart from him saying it's a good read, he hasn't said much more. Think once my hangover goes I'll start having a read.

@BoysInBlue for painkilling injections see Michael Ball. He really gave everything to the club to be fit for games and i think cost him a career at the highest level. Always felt he could have been first choice England left back. Doesnt get enough credit i think.

@davek didnt know that about Cahill. He clearly loves the club and as an "insider" clearly hes going to see the rosy side so i think he deserves some slack here. Definitely should be brought back to the club once he retires....

@liamefc91 whats he saying on twitter then? I dont use it....just endless positive energy about how great we are?

Met some Aussies a few weeks ago and they all said Cahill was an arrogant nasty piece of work. All met him a few times personally apparently and love him as a player but not as a person.

I always felt he seemed like a really nice guy so either theyve just had a bad experience with him or hes really 100% an Evertonian and his personality is very positive when it comes to us and our fans and not in general?

Weird one.

Thought Howard was a top bloke as well but the past year ive seen different...hard to tell what players are really like behind the scenes.

Duncan Ferguson is truly a one off.

When all is said and done. I did like Cahill a lot. That never say die attitude, making the most of what you had and practising to become a better player. That overhead kick at Chelsea was brilliant. Deserved goal of the season.

Everton FC: Goal Of The Season 2007-2008 Tim Cahill vs Chelsea

Sometimes it appeared that he was carrying the whole team.

I wouldn't be violently against it. Just saying he chose to back the chairman and be used by the CEO to come out against the opposition to them at one point. As originally said: a blotted copy book.
