Oh look, Cahill scores and people go all misty eyed about him. :yellow:

It was Cahill who asked to leave, he wanted to carry on playing for Aus and the stresses of playing in the premier league would have left him with a shorter Aus career. He's effectivly in semi-retirement in the US.

As for the Naismith comparison, it's spot on. Limited footballing abilities masked by a never say day attitude and a few goals here and there. Don't get me wrong, we miss Naismith when he's not playing as well as he can, just like we missed Cahill when he was out of the side, but don't paint either of them as wonderful players because they give 100%.

Cahill was quite clearly finished in his later years with us, he went through the entirety of 2011 without scoring a goal. The club were just as happy to let him go as he was happy to leave, and it was the right move for all parties at the time

Exactly, yet here we are, 4 years later....people crying for him to come back.

Can you imagine the venom directed at him when he turns out to be crap?

I like the glance over his shoulder at the defender he's left in a heap before he sets himself for the overhead. Funny that.

Dont think he'll ever come back on the coaching side, hes big on his foundation, think he go back to oz full time. But we should defo make him an ambassador, maybe work with him with his academies, hes such a big brand in Australia and we never quite utilized that when he was here

lols, someone took the above footage to make Pop 'N Lock Cahill... which, naturally, he has acknowledged.
