THT's Ratings Part 3 - Midfield

It's tricky really, I mean clearly everyone has rated all our players ridiculously high. If we're measuring them against other players in the Prem/world then there's no way so many of our players would get 9. If we're measuring them against each other in the Everton squad, then surely our best player should be a 10 and work down from there.

Against other players in the Prem, I'd have something like this:

Arteta 9
Pienaar 8
Cahill 8
Fellaini 7
Rodwell 7
Bilyaletdinov 6
Osman 6
Gosling 4

Don't you be bringing your logic and systems into this thread.

That's how I'm going to rate them -

Arteta 9.5 - fantastic form since his return from injury, one of the stars of the Prem in the past few months.
Pienaar 8.5 - why else would he be linked with Spurs, United and Arsenal?
Cahill 8 - always in the right place at the right time.
Fellaini 8 - showed his true class just before his injury!
Rodwell 7 - one for the future definitely, goal against Utd showed his attacking abilities
Bilyaletdinov 7 - could be a higher rating this season as I'm expecting him to shine.
Osman 6 - squad player at the best.
Gosling 5 - will always be remembered for that goal against the [Poor language removed]. And then there was the one vs Utd this season! :P Still has plenty of time to improve.

Arteta - The Engine Room of Everton Football Club, simple as. - 9/10
Pienaar - How he took the creative reigns from Arteta has made him one of Europes best midfielders, love him. - 9/10
Cahill - Didn't show up for the first 3 months of the season, but this guy IS Everton football club for me. 8/10
Bilyaletdinov - More potential than soft mick! Best shot in the squad. 7/10
Osman - A great little player in the centre, not out wide, can benefit from being subbed one week than playing the next. 7/10
Fellaini - We all didn't realise how good a reader/passer/tackler/player he was until he moved to DM, can't wait for him to be back! 9/10
Rodwell - So ******* calm on the ball, amazing potential, would like to see Moyes play around with him positionally in midfield this season. 8/10
Gosling - What a legend, very meat & potatoes player, needs 2 or 3 more seasons to become fully class. 6/10

Donovan is a solid 8, pushing a 9 if he spent more time here. Badass.

Very logical mate but I did rate them against other prem sides ! I do genuinely believe that we have some top drawer players mate but maybe Tets and Pienaar should av been 8-75s ....

Agreed, it's always gonna be hard to rate players when there are literally hundreds to compare anyway. I was just thinking that there are actually quite a few of the best players in the world in the Prem, I mean realistically if Pienaar is a 9 then Rooney is gonna be about a 13 isn't he.

Maybe a comparison with players who play in similar positions?
