Three players whom I have under-estimated

Fellani's ratings in my books have increased with an infinite gradient(y).

I always rated neville as the captain every team would love to have. Just goes to show that you don't have to score spectacular goals like gerrard or be a top CB like Terry when you have Phil Neville.(y)

osman-- He's very limited, yes! But one thing you cant take away from him is his ability to keep the possession. For a man of his stature to twist all the time with the ball sticking to his feet like a magnet is eyecatching. It's a shame that he can't add any pace or visionary passing because he'd be playing for England I'm sure. I have to be honest here, the way he rose up for the header against arsenal seriously made me think that Cahill scored. Always a room for improvement for Ossie!(y)

Fellaini is a lot better at the moment, but he's still nowhere near 'world class' or even one of the best players in the league in my opinion. As I said the first time I saw him play, the best he can hope for as a footballer is to be a bigger, nastier version of Alonso. Hopefully he will end up being exactly that.

Without the superb passing range.

serious? He falls over the ball and loses possession alot, he has pace though!

Well i have been watching him closely over quiet some time now and yes losing the possesion is what can happen to any player but i noticed this that when he has a man too close to him, he never panics. He has a lovely foot and he turns around here and there and will either pass the ball close by or go into some corner to clear it. I like his ball control, compare it to Cahill's these days where he takes too heavy touches atimes and gives the ball away

In the arsenal game Osman even got past a few times without using any pace, just clever turns.

Maybe you don't see him the way I see Osman. I do still think that he needs to be a sqaud player though but he has some undoubted positives

Admittedly i don't like him and all i notice is him falling over and losing the ball, but i think he was brilliants v arsenal

I can't tell which is which myself.

Osman vs Macclesfield

Iniestas was voted one of the goals of last season by UEFA. Osman is very under-rated.

Ok, respects in which they are similar:

Both very slow, two of the slowest players of all time
Both very neat and tidy on the ball, rarely misplace a pass
Both very difficult to get off the ball when in possession, excellent at shielding the ball
Both niggly tacklers that like to get stuck in and nick the ball off people

Respects in which they aren't similar:

Alonso has a very good football brain and natural talent, Fellaini is massive, ungainly and generally a big lump
Fellaini is massive so beats everyone in the air, Alonso cannot do this
Fellaini is massive and has three metre long arms that inevitably hit everyone in the world in the face
Alonso is amazing at long passes, Fellaini is ok at them

SO HOPEFULLY HE WILL BE A BIGGER, NASTIER VERSION OF ALONSO AND DEVELOP HIS RANGE OF PASSING.

But I still think Osman is lacking, lots of respect for the job hes done, but he is a little limited.

Couldn't agree more Goat, prior to him being given the captaincy against Hull I remember his head being down with a sort "oh i can't be arsed" attitude and some sloppy play especially against Fulham away and Wigan at home (despite the win). I'm glad to see he's got his head above the water again and I'm hoping it will be a sign of only good things to come
