A 35 year old right back who has hi lights and wears white boots.
Perfect captain.

Has a dodgy barnet and is the worst dressed player at the club ((c) Distin in tonight's EFC webchat).

Good for banter and morale then.

Seriously, all footballers have crap hairstyles and dodgy boots.

If people watch the actual video of his interview, he talks a lot of sense. I realise it's not fashionable to say this, but I'm proud that Neville is our captain. Alright, he's not the greatest player in the world, and he is getting older. But the Everton players do all clearly respect him and look up to him, and he does lead by example. There aren't many 35 year olds in the Premier League in as great a physical shape as Neville is. He's a good role model for kids and clearly does care about Everton.

Totally agree with this. His leadership on and off the pitch is essential to Everton's success. I think we'll be making a big mistake if we don't give him a player/coach role at the end of his contract.

Think he is needed around the club,he knows superstars who won't fit in by this I mean if we sign players who are big time charlies, which generally we don't he has seen them all, seems a cert for coachs role.

Did he not come out last year and say 2 more years? And even then I thought 'FFS'. Personally he seemed to have lost a yard or two of pace last season, no questioning his commitment and professionalism though. Hopefully wont feature too much. Wish we would sign a right sided Baines from somewhere though.

were gonna need a left sided baines aswell by the sounds of things

Yeah nothing wrong with Phil saying that, however this :

"But I have to remain fit, strong and keep playing well to keep my position in the team."

means he's going to Spurs cause he can't be that stupid to not realise he plays here regardless of form.

Good on him. Great pro, never hides, always 100%. He knows he isn't the greatest player ever but he's been great for us, in general.
