Threat of villa

Things already starting to unravel for slippy now that the actual brains of the operation has left for QPR? It will be very interesting to watch what happens at Villa for the next few months I reckon

Think a lot think mings believes he is better than he is, a bit sloppy and capable of too many ricks. If villa beat Bournemouth no one would complain

Apparently Mings isnt the only casualty. He's had a go at Sanson and Traore. Loads of fans want rid already

Happily eat humble pie on this.

They’ve basically Everton’d it up. Picked the highest priced players, offered them a tonne of money and hoped it stuck.

Failed. They backed the wrong horse in. Gerrard. I also don’t think it helps that they backed him to the hilt, and he’s not very good, and his ego hasn’t gone down very well at all.

But their owner is extremely rich, and he’s just got it wrong.

I think you are right. They were making steady sustainable progress with a local manager and then panicked at his first bad run (after losing their Grealish talisman) and gone full Everton, bringing in a star name manager, spending with no plan and big wages on players past their peak.
FFP will become a factor soon too

Well, that’s what I mean really. I’ve looked at Newcastle and aside from a really bizarre approach for Maddison (which sadly failed), they’ve been smart about their business, and bought their needs.

Villa even before Gerrard, they money they’ve wasted has been insane.

£26.5m - Mings (with add one)
£17m Coutinho - a lot for a very inconsistent player
£22m - Wesley
£33m - Buendia
£27m - Bailey
£16m - Traore
£15m - Sanson

They’re acting like they’ve made it, and they were at least 2-3 years from being close. Scattergun approaches don’t work. Just ask us or United.
