Gerrard is crazy to move to Villa.

Should stick it at Rangers so hes got 3 years there under his belt + 3 titles.

More experience gained and pushes them on in Europe.

Villa is a huge risk.

Not about Europe.

Said before in the thread, I actually think he’s on the downturn at Rangers now, think he’s had the peak and whilst he’ll still be good, is it the time to move on?

Went unbeaten, got further than any Scottish side in Europe for 10 years, won the first league for 10 years. It’s a good resume to have.

I think if you’re Gerrard you’ve more than earned your chance and I think he’s been wise and unlike Lampard actually learned his trade at a team with high pressure, and expectations.

Whether the Prem will be too soon, who knows. But most interesting decision in a while if he goes, and adds to exciting games at Goodison we desperately need.

Villa is definitely too big a move for him at this point his career, they're a huge club with expectations and unlike Rangers there's plenty of egos in that dressing room who won't hang on his every word.

Always thought a move abroad to Germany or France was the next natural step, he's done great in Scotland but it's still a backwater league where you can only learn so much. He needs another gig to bridge the gap if he wants to manage Liverpool one day, a club in the CL (or aspiring to be) is what he should be after but definitely not Villa where the spotlight will be enormous. Honestly reckon he's let his ego rule his senses if he's accepted the offer.

I think it's one of those where non-footballing men have decided to go for a name to placate the fans rather than an appointment that would progress the club.

I really rate their director of football, but the decision to remove Smith reeks of Purslow and I see it's his name all over the firing and hiring statements. Think it's a mis-step by Villa, but only in the sense they may finish 12th to 14th rather than 8th to 12th.

You just know he’ll absolutely bend over every single time for Klopp as well, you just know it, and he’ll love doing it as well.

Let me just put on the record though….. there are some ex players and managers who turned up at Anfield that I could respect once they left and the cult like mist disappeared from them.

This piece of **** though deserves every single bit of misfortune that comes his way. I might even hate him more than Liverpool as a club itself.
