Threat of villa

Just watched the villa youth side play the rs off the park to win the fa youth trophy. The club seem like they are being run well top to bottom, owners are filthy rich, back room staff have been poached from clubs around the country and youth side is looking incredible. First team played some good stuff this season. Thier signings last summer weren’t flash but cash, Martinez, traore, and watkins have proved astute buys.
The manager again has improved them every season.
They seem like a club moving in a upward direction, well run and making wise investments for the long term good of the clubs future. While we seem like we are spunking money and hoping something lands lucky.
Big city, good stadium. Can see villa proving a big threat to our status in the tier below the big spenders over the next 10 years.
Fellow founding members - I wouldn't begrudge them success that's been earned the traditional way through growth and planning, rather than buying it like cheque book Chelski, the Citteh billionaires and the massive wage bill rs.

If Villa do anything it's beacuse they brought success

Highest net spend in Europe last few seasons, money being pumped in

Villa are a good manager and handful of players away from certainly pushing the top 6 / overtaking us.

Been very impressed with them this season think Smith is holding them back despite doing a decent job there in terms of the coaching.

I've said for a while now our fans need to stop snarling at other clubs improving like Leicester, Leeds & Villa and start putting pressure on the people at the top of our club to get their shiz together.

Was watching Toffee TV and Ped made a good point in that Carlo has taken criticism and some of it is justified but where is the criticism towards Brands or those above him on the board like Kenwright etc who's overseen the last few years of awful decision making and crap recruitment?

Generally means nothing in the grand scale of things. Everton U23's won the PL a couple of years back didn't they?

Even among the youth players who clean up at that level winning trophies and represent their international team it's still a tiny percentage who graduate to PL level football. And an even smaller percentage who become elite players.

See Tom Davies, Ryan Ledson and many, many others.

No offence mate, but you generally think that every club is a threat to us, every club has better players than us and every club is better run than us.

Their fans are absolute balloons I can tell you that much.

Anyway I came in here to be threatened with a house in Spain

They’ll still be behind Newcastle and Leeds tho

We have missed the boat big time - the recent collapses of Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal and the arab royals sense opportunity to gatecrash the top 4/ CL Cash cow.

We're stuck with Walter Mitty and Kenwright whilst Newcastle and Leeds could be about to become the next Man City/PSG.

The next Man City/PSG, have a day off.

If Newcastle or anyone else were taken over by the Saudi's they would be above us within 3 years top.

Anyone pretending otherwise is deluded when they have seen first hand what Oil money does to clubs not just in terms of player recruitment but actually appointing very clever people into positions throughout the entire club from boardroom to recruitment - they wouldn't leave kin Kenwright as Chairman or Unsy in charge of the kids.

No point getting you knickers in a twist about then really, is it?

Unless, of course, you’re gonna sweet talk one of them Saudi princes in to parting with their dough?
