Thoughts on Naismith and Mirallas??

Yeah, I did too.

It's going to be interesting to see how Moyes uses them over the course of the season. One thing's for sure their versatility is going to really benefit us when we get hit by injuries.

I wonder if we'll see Mirallas played alongside Jelavic at any point.

Piennar LW, Naismith RW, Fellaini\Osman AM with Mirallas + Jelavic upfront would be pretty scary to line up against if you're a defender.

I quite like Felli behind Jelavic because it causes so much carnage. I think Mirallas, Naismith and Pienaar can all play right, left or down the middle. My main concerns are that Moyes tries to be too clever and switches them round too much or that they start interchanging positions during games more than is necessary and we lose our shape.

very impressed with both, we've gone from not having any recognised potent strikers to having 3 in 6 months!

Remember this time last year when every defender in the league was made up to face Cahill and Saha?

It's a big turn around in such a short space of time. The four of them probably only cost about as much as the headline fee for Rodwell as well. I read on the stats that Baines created about 9 chances against Villa. Last year we were too defensive and he wasn't getting forward so much.

Impressed so far. Naismith had a lot of doubters on here when he signed so hopefully he manages to prove a few people wrong.

When all are healthy we have a genuine selection problem now and could actually rotate a little bit without weakening the squad.

Naismith reminds me a little like Gosling. Positioning is his great asset and reads the flow of play. Good link up play last week. We will have to continue to see how his presence helps us in the future.

Doing Naismith a disservice with that comparison methinks.

I'm not being funny, but recently, If Anichebe plays, he scores.............

This is almost annoyingly true, his past makes me dislike him and everything about him annoys me, he's my least favourite player at the club but he's started banging them in.
To be honest though I think I am at the stage where its going to take a seriously good couple of seasons to change my mind on him, even when he scores I am annoyed it wasn't someone else because it interferes with my not liking him.

Sounds like you have issues to be honest.

I'm impressed with Naismith so far, he looks to have fitted in right away, I've not seen enough of Mirallas yet though but he does look very promising.

I have seen a lot of Naismith up here in Chilly Jock Land.. Players like Naismith are the reason why I support Everton.

He will roll his sleeves up and work his bo11ox off for 90 minutes. he's not big time and does not have a big fat ego. He will score too, BUT he will always work work work hard for the jersey, the team and the fans.

Brilliant signing - simple.

Perhaps, But I really didn't mean it in that way. Gosling while he ran off from us had some cracking moment for us albeit few.
I was suggesting the mindset of Naismith is similar as far as anticipating the flow of play and being in the right place to deliver and finish. I believe we will be pleasently suprised by this in the future.
