He was a really quality defender in his early Arsenal days.

I remember being surprised when Barcelona bought him as he had missed so much time through various injuries. That was a few years ago now and although I don't follow La Liga much I do feel as though he has spent most of his time there with yet more injuries.

A player of his quality in his prime I would be made up with, given he is going to be bought to cover injuries and suspensions of our first teamers, with his own poor fitness record, I find it a very odd deal.
