Player Valuation: £35m
You are all covering up our shortcomings by ****ging off the RS. The fact is they beat Benfica and we did not even get close. Face upto it as things stand they are better then us no two ways about it. We need to stop making excuses for our team they are just not good enough at present. Okay we have had some good results but a lot of [Poor language removed] ones as well. Look at last weekend which was by no means an exception.

Look at our strikers Yak, Saha, Vaughan, Anicxhebe and any one else you care to name, none of them can hold a candle to Torres. I have said it before and will continue to do so. We have a striker problem, none of them are good enough and forget about past reputations such as Yak, it is now that counts. We really need a striker in the same mould as Torres, Bellamy, Milner players with go and energy.

That is a priority not somebleeding winger, or midfielder or even a full back, its players scoring goals that win games.

Wake up and look at how crap some of our games have been. Liverpool have slaughtered the Europa opposition and what have we done. Can you honestly say we have great strikers??? Please.

They have ONE worldclass striker, and the rest are proper [Poor language removed].

We have 4 good strikers who we can rely on.

Agreed on the Benfica bit Mr J, but then that is just us all over in Europe, we get star struck at half decent European teams we should be beating. Liverpool deservedly went through and as ace as we think we are, they have took six points off us this season. One of them despite playing with ten men for most of the match.

I think you're a little hasty with the striker thing, Yakubu is by Moyes' own admission not likely to be back to where he was until next season (we'll see there), Saha has done well but the goals have dried up lately, Vaughan has been not fit as per usual. Id say we could do with a consistent goalscorer but if Yakubu is back to what he was then we'll be ok, plus we've allegedly bagged Beckford which is a nothing to lose gamble.

Torres is one of the best strikers in the world though, we couldn't afford anything like him.

Chico thank you mate but do not hold your breath on Beckford not at all certain as yet. The reality is many of our goals have been coming from midfield which is fantastic but we need that little bit of cream upfront. If Yak is not what he was but expects to be back next season, why are we playing him??

1. Everton had 13 players out for the away leg and 9 for the home

2. Liverpool had 48 hours extra preparation for the game than Benfica had

3. Liverpool had their best possible team on, shown by the fact the FSW kept Ladyboy and St Steven of Huyton on till the 85th minute.

4. Everton have been the best team in the league since Xmas.

5. Everton are not 250m in debt. We have 40 million debts amongst the lowest in the league.

6. Everton have decent youth coming through getting experience. I can't name one RS player youth they're bringing through

7. Yobo did most of the hoof ball and playing into the opposition hands in Sporting and he's barely played since and looks like he's on his way

8. Arteta has shown just what we missed when he was out, and knowing Moyes he'll be after a replica or similar so that if it happens again we have cover

9. Gerrard's not getting any younger, whilst Everton's players are all approaching their peak

10. We have Moyes they have the FSW. FSW spent 45m per season and look where they are. Moyes has built his own team with about the same amount in 5 years.

Enough said.

Toffeeweb and these types of threads. My a*se.

PS. Liverpool demanding to play the Thursday and forcing us on the Tuesday hampered us - see 48 hours extra issue for effect.

FTRS!

I've had it from a Leeds Utd 1st team player. (Named and limited to those in the know on here, but not publishing publicly on here)

So Beckfords a cert.

Thats CERT not BLERT, as in your first post on this thread.

A couple of in-ze-know sauces on here have said it's been agreed mate, I'm inclined to believe them this time*

He's playing Yakubu now as Saha is out of form and Yakubu is getting game time to recover from what would have previously been a potentially career ending injury. If we got both of them fit and on form together we could have an outstanding front two, when that formation would be needed anyway.

Agree with you on the frustration though, good strikers win games and that's what we've been lacking for the last few games.

* easy Barlows, easy now.

Matt enough has not been said it is not just about Benfica look at the Brum game and the Hammers game 4 points chucked. You get upset because I dare to speak out when some thing is not good enough.
