This week last year...

didn't we get absolutely bummed by atalanta the same week something like 5-1 as well

still think unsworth would have kept us up just for the home form alone like

The day I realised that we were genuine relegation contenders... without the knowledge or the players to fight their way out of trouble.

The next half a dozen games changed everything and then we fell back into mediocrity.

It was a disgraceful squad who wanted Koeman out, wouldn’t play for Unswprth them turned it on to avoid relegation but nothing more. The state of some of those away performances for the team to then turn up at Goodison and take apart decent teams like Leicester Brighton Palace West Ham like it was the easiest thing in the world. It was a horrible squad that thankfully we are now starting to phase out.

We were the worst team in the league by a mile at this point. If someone had said then we’d have Richarlison Bernard Digne Gomes and Mina playing for us in 12 months time we would have laughed.

Anybody saying we weren’t awful or underestimating it is totally wrong in my opinion , we were absolutely dreadful . That performance ranks amongst some of the worst I’ve watched over my Everton life and I’ve watched some stinkers. The players looked disinterested and completely lacking a plan , horrible to watch.

Southampton away. 4-1.

They hadn't scored for about three years before that game I think.

Possibly the lowest I've felt as a blue (considering expenditure/expectations).

I think remembering how we all felt that day makes you appreciate the job Brands and Silva have done. Huge turn around.

Feels like more than a year ago, probably BECAUSE of what a turnaround in personnel and style we’ve seen since.

I’m 36, so I’ve endured more bad times than good in the years I’ve followed Everton but, yeah, this time last year - topped off by the BFS move - was very probably the darkest time.

Just highlights how well Brands and Silva have done in a very short space of time. Credit to Moshiri aswell, he got it wrong first time and made sweeping changes after that....would Kenright have sacked Allardyce and Walsh at the end of the season? I'm not so sure.

This time last year i had been through so much anger, embarrassment, frustration, desperation and despair that i had become numb to it and cared nothing about the rest of season. What a difference a year makes, I am the complete opposite now thankfully.

Lucky. Add another few years to that and you would have witnessed a bright period, that makes the dark of the embalmer's reign all the more terrible. Awful, awful period.
