Arsenal played worse and won - Our defence has to be improved - we need a decent cover at right back - not Tony Hibbo- Distan may need to play less games awful yesterday - John Stones needs to play in central defence, and also Duffy must be given a chance - we cannot cope from set pieces and hoof ball Distan is useless in the air never won many headed battles yesterday - Jags has not got the height against a Wimbledon type side!
In fact we are starting to defend like Wigan - we scored 2 great goals and let in two very soft goals Howard never had a save to make - they also missed a good chance one on one when the guy blasted over - the rest was sheer panic to the high ball all afternoon!

That's a scary comment. Who's our defensive coach?

- Lukaku was a total waste of £28m
- Barkley is out for at least 5 months, he'll never be the same player
- Besic should hang his head in shame for putting Barkley out for months as it was defo him
- Our season is basically over

Anything i've missed ?
apparently we are wrong to rate stones based on last years performance, it is today while playing out of position that he should be judged on

We had the 3rd best defensive record in the league last season, conceding fewer goals than 2 of the top 4 teams, Liverpool and Arsenal.

Just because we conceded 2 yesterday (as we did on the opening day last season) is not indicative of 'starting to defend like Wigan'.
and ther 4th best the season before, and the 3rd best the year before that i think

Yes ok but we did lose games we could have won last season with similar defending - the goals yesterday were gifts - maybe an overreaction by me, but if you score two great goals and then concede goals like that = very frustrating! also a dropped point to a team playing hoof ball!

Does anybody else think we need a defensive coach. Not exactly Roberto's strongest suit. Two soft goals in Game 1 both defensive errors and nerves were jangling with each set piece?

No, because we had the 3rd best defensive record in the league last season.

It's just an utter myth that people like to cling to that Martinez' is clueless when it comes to defence. He's not. He's far more savvy than Brendan Rodgers is, whose team conceded 11 more goals than Everton last season, or even Arsene 'the famed Arsenal back 4' Wenger, who conceded 2 more goals than Everton did.

I know some people are disappointed that we drew a game yesterday, but there's a lot of rubbish being chatted in the aftermath.

So because he played poorly but was out of position he should be rated higher? Lukaku would therefore have been highly rated at right back lol
