He lost posession more times than Beto did.
He had just as many unsuccessful touches as Beto did.
Won the same amount of headers as Beto did.
Passes in oppo half? Made 0 of 2.
Unsure what you watched like.
Flipping it the other way round though, from a pure stats perspective; and given that he was subbed on in the 64th minute, that he had as many unsuccessful touches, lost possession as much, won as many headers etc., tells me that he was more involved in the game than Beto.
Which confirms what I saw, that he did more to unsettle the City backline, created more space, and in general offered more than Beto did in the hour he had.
The issue with Beto IMO is that he doesn't have the game understanding to know when to create separation between himself and the centre halves when we have the ball deep or are building out from the back. This means he is easy to man mark, and we find it hard to find him when we are playing on the counter as a result. For a team like City that play a highwire act, push high and go one on one at the back, I think he's the kind of centre half they want to play against. Barry on the other hand is better at dropping off the centre halves, so he often gets to the breaking ball first, is easier to find into feet from deep, and wins more headers (notice how Beto likes to back into centre halves, Barry likes to get a leap on them).
In general Beto has better movement in the box and makes better runs in behind... but we typically need sustained possession for him to be effective. And even then he plays like he's wearing jeans and timbs
Not saying that Barry is a great player by the way, just that (IMO) he I) has more to his game than Beto; and II) was better on Monday
