2025/26 Thierno Barry

Well does not show it on that clip, but does show it on the full match, just checked at 43:15 from point blank range  he definitely heads against the post, they do a slo mo. So if you have the full match taped check that time out, if not you will just have to take my word. :)
I undeleted it from my sky recordings to check 😂 he jumps with eyes closed and it sort of ricochets off his head to the post from about 2 cm away

Dunno what’s worse him not heading it or it actually hitting his head twice and still not getting it on target! 😂
Still a little inconclusive for me if the first contact is the keeper punching it onto his noggin, before it ping pongs off his head against the post TWICE!

Sorry mate I had to squint and wait for the slo mo to even see it.

He was trying to thread it underneath the keeper's hand.

I still reckon he’ll come good. He has about two gaping misses/offside/handball basically every game. At some point though these start going in. There’s nothing wrong with his penalty box movement and his touch is improving all the time. Once he gets the monkey off his back and starts taking chances a bit more calmly he’s going to score.

Whatever we think of him the boy seems cursed. This is unlucky but his awful control and then sliced shot that went in and was disallowed against Newcastle is the stuff of a witch doctor.

He will come good.

To be 20ish and be the line striker in the premier League is a big ask. Least of all to do it for Everton which is even harder.

I view this period as the necessary exposure needed to grow.

I have faith

He's at least started to get on the end of one or two things now.

What I would say though is that we are a much better side when he's on the pitch than when Beto is.

His hold up play, how he links up with others etc is actually pretty decent. He does have a languid look about the way he plays that people aren't going to love, but I'm convinced that there's enough talent in there that he could end up a decent option.

Beto still needs to be punted and we need another striker, but I'm beginning to think Barry might come good as at least a viable option.

He could legitimately have about 5 pl goals now. Tap in v Palace he just missed completely, the one v Sunderland he hit too hard over the bar, Tarkwoski offside v Fulham, marginal handball v Bournemouth, even the header that the keeper has called out under the post

This is all whilst he’s adapting to the league. Even if he’d mis hit a few of those he’d have one or two now. That tells me be’s getting into positions to score. The goals will follow.
