Confidence is everything in football.

We've done ourselves over, they didn't force us into signing him!Villarreal have done us over. Moyes and the Board knew in know time.
Agree - needs to focus on working hard making it difficult for defence first - and win more headers.Needs to show something in his next appearance, even if it’s just more desire or aggression.
He was actually mentioned as being one of the better headers of the ball, he is playing like he is wearing diving boots. I hope he comes good I really do (We need him too), just seems a very frustrated figure and lacking confidence.Agree - needs to focus on working hard making it difficult for defence first - and win more headers.
He was that close to scoring - which shows reasonable movement - but yeah confidence. He was actually mentioned as being one of the better headers of the ball, he is playing like he is wearing diving boots. Why it would do him good to build his confidence up - he looks inept in the first team that is not doing us or him any good is it ,,,I'm not sure that would do his confidence any good, Him costing £27 mil then being told he's only good enough to train with the reserves
He kicked fresh air 2nd time I have seen him do that ,,,,He was that close to scoring - which shows reasonable movement - but yeah confidence.
Always find it hard to imagine that is some physical fault with a player who has already come this far. Confidence or speed / experience of the PL ?He kicked fresh air 2nd time I have seen him do that ,,,,
He looks no where near Prem level as yet ....Always find it hard to imagine that is some physical fault with a player who has already come this far. Confidence or speed / experience of the PL ?
On the one hand - yeah, sure, true.Never said he was Spanish,he's played his football in the EU so the idea that a change of culture is a factor is laughable. Now if the poster I answered had said he hasn't been expected to play with his back to goal and close down opposition defenders. That's a different story
Spanish football isn't the soft touch some see it as,it's not the lads fault that he's being asked to play the type of game that he hasn't encountered before. So a lot of the fault is with the manager and recruitment staff. But surely by now someone (Moyes or Coleman) could have taken him to one side and told him the way to get the support behind you is to show initiative and start pressing defenders and use your physicality. Poor lad looks lost most times he's been on the pitch. On the one hand - yeah, sure, true.
On the other - not everyone adapts to foreign cultures easily or the same, and Britain is quite odd compared to mainland Europe. I was very okay with it, you were too as IIRC you're abroad as well, but I have friends/acquaintances who never settled or took actual years until they were even remotely comfortable, even with family around.
Doubt he's not expected it, his highlight reel showed some good movement/teamplay as well. Maybe it's the physicality and the league itself he's still getting used to, hopefully he steps up a bit more tbh. I'd be okay with him being slow on the development if we had another option, but we really kind of don't![]()
Thats exactly how i see itHe looks like he realises he's made a big mistake and is out of his depth, but knows he has to just get on with it.
Maybe homesick.
Depends which way you look at it , i'm not sure how he'd improve by training with the U21'sWhy it would do him good to build his confidence up - he looks inept in the first team that is not doing us or him any good is it ,,,
