2025/26 Thierno Barry

I'd persist with Barry, in and out every week isn't helping him - overall play against Brighton was good, should've continued in the 11, and was taken out for Beto (who did score against wolves) but I think that would've knocked him a bit.

Needs to start with Grealish, KDH & Ndiaye, getting service from 36yo coleman on his wrong side and dwight mcneil is difficult

He was so poor against Wolves. I think he could be a good player but obviously needs time.

Sorry he just has not got it how many clear cut headers for a tall forward does he head miles over the bar - both our number 9s are inadequate in some aspects of their game - I would try Nydia as a no 9 with Dibling on the wing - with Alcaraz as the no 10 - & play the ball on the deck ....

I agree.

Never is a strong word, there is one exception I can think of and that is Yakubu. If not for the injury we would have had a proper goalscorer for a lot longer than we did. That was the perfect storm, in terms of a natural finisher and players around him that can assist in the goal burden, and be creative for him.

It is easier said than done but I see this midfield as a similar ilk to the one that played with Yakubu, so if we can just get one of these with a bit of confidence in front of goal then we will have a decent front line.

Beto has shown that he can score, Barry is yet to show that instinct but I think at times his all round play has been of a level to engage a tiny bit of optimism, at least.
After the injury the Yak had a good season in the Championship on loan then another great one in the Prem with Blackburn Rovers. Moyes cocked that up as well

Haven't been impressed so far but have to reserve judgement, I think you generally have to judge foreign imports on their 2nd season unless they are obviously abject.

Difficult for us because we need performances from investment immediately. I expected more but I'm trying, not altogether successfully, to be patient.

Just cut and paste this for the Aznou thread also.
