2025/26 Thierno Barry

I remember that podcast I went to in the USA where Moyes was asked about Barry. He basically called him turd without being that direct.

He knew. Which makes me believe he either didn't want him or just signed off on it because he needed a warm blooded mammal over nothing.

Honestly, I'd prefer to have kept the money and had nothing. Come out and throw him under the bus, Moyes, he's kin useless, gormless, and has no desire to work hard at all.

I think if it was a case of numbers he would have got a yard dog/loan in until a more suitable replacement came in, which will likely be liam delap

Said this last week, and to be clear really it's more a criticism of Moyes than an endorsement of Barry.

But if you have to play Barry, you get players around him. The one part of his game that I think you can credit is his link up play. This Barry performance, similar to when he came on last week is just exactly what I would expect to see when we're not adapting how we play at all from when Beto is playing up top.

Beto thrives in isolated space. He's at his best when in a pure physical battle against his centre back, and at his worst when trying to dribble or play one two's. Barry is the polar opposite, cant hack the battle against PL centre backs but is capable of creating chances if he has teammates in close proximity.

If you have no choice but to play Barry, then you're setting yourself up for failure by asking him to do the job that Beto does.
