2025/26 Thierno Barry

Perfect chance to start him against West Ham next week. Hes played against some tough defenses to start, West Ham is the opposite and will give him plenty of chances to get his first goal and get started.

Despite I agree technically he is much better than Beto he does not look physically ready. I would give N Diaye a go in the middle if only we had a decent other right winger. But also Dibbling does not seem ready

Starts vs wolves in the cup now and is his chance to put his case forward for west ham then. I prefer his game over beto as think is more about him, just need to get him clicking with the rest of the team. Feel like him getting that first goal will really help

CORRECT !!! The ONLY way we will climb the table. ALL the top teams have at least one excellent or good striker. We ain't got any! I don't care if we concede 3 goals every game; as long as we score 4.
We are not a top team yet. We've been fighting relegation for years. Excellent strikers don't grow on trees and would rather sit on a top 4 bench.

He's had about 150 minutes and last season he was starting striker for a CL team in La Liga you genuine loon. He's fine
This. He’s not been plucked from the league 1 after 7 first team appearances. Loads of development to come obviously but he’s not some kid from the academy who’s never played against a tough strong streetwise defence. Bizarre how much time people want to give him jogging round FF before he will somehow magically become “ready”. If he has a run of games now, misses chances and doesn’t hold the ball up, it won’t be because he isn’t ready, it will just be his level. And we will try to get the best out of it.

It’s really stupid to try and gauge a players mindset, and impossible to be accurate. But he really does look unhappy. Total utter nonsense I know. But just the vibe he gives off. Would like to see a bit of arrogance and fire from him. Certainly will win less than 50% of headers from punts forward, but maybe jumping for ALL of them, might at least force a mistake. Particularly at Everton, fans and managers will have infinitely more patience if you are visibly putting everything into it.

Anyway, brace on Tuesday and a goal and assist next week and we can stop guessing.

So after today's game we will probably have won two and lost two and unless you watch the game with rose tinted glasses we were fortunate to win the first game at Bramley Moor. Relegation isn't magically out of the picture,so having tried and tested players up front would have been the pragmatic thing to do. Having two CFs neither of whom could trap a bag of cement will put more and more pressure on the defence. Let's see how this plays out until Xmas. I've a feeling we'll be back in the market by then.
So how many of these tried and tested forwards where on the market during the summer, plus how many would come here without paying over the top wages and transfer fee.
