2025/26 Thierno Barry

I was asked for names in a previous post...I give 3.

So now we're getting into opinions.
Yes, you were specifically asked who you thought we could have signed to meet this criteria you established.

I appreciate your point of view but there no way you have to spend 50+ on a proper forward these days, especially 30 million pound ones not deemed ready for the PL.

Do you honestly think those 3 names you have are more ready for the PL than Barry is?

Three lads you've cherry picked from *checks notes* the Dutch league? :hayee:

Barry has a much better CV than any of these players too, his scoring record is better in better leagues. This is a general theme on here. When you ask people who we should buy instead they either don't know but are convinced there must be 50 right wingers in world football who fit the bill for us just because or they give a list of ridiculous options like this one but there is no consequence for making a terrible call.
The thing people also misunderstand is that 99% of the time it's not at all realistic to say why don't we just sign x player. Even if they're at a smaller club.

The pool of players that we could sign today is so much smaller than people think. Even if a player is good enough to improve us, so many elements have to come together in terms of the player and their agent both wanting the move, the selling team being happy to cooperate, years remaining on contracts, sell on clauses, image rights etc etc etc.

For us atm the transfer market is about identifying which of the opportunities that have presented themselves are the best options to take. If you don't have European football you are not in the drivers seat. Clubs like Brighton are other side of the coin but to get in that position you have to have a proven track record of developing young players and getting them moves to more successful clubs, which is not a model our fans, or I imagine even TFG would accept because of the size of the club.
