Pragmatism. It's why so many are so faux upset with labour currently. When daily life is dragged into the mud and worse, you have to battle out of the same and that means getting your hands dirty until the harm is undone.
This basic realisation of there being no magic wand to correct things is the fundamental flaw in the electorate. Always short-termism. Short-termist requirements get short-termist solutions.
