Q1: They're the only type of people who will work for him at this point. His first administration was filled with a lot of people in it who I have political disagreements with (Mike Pence, Bill Barr, John Bolton, etc.), but they were also serious people with long histories in government. All of them came out in opposition to him this time around. Unquestioned loyalty is now all that matters.

Q2: Until the moment one of them steps out of line and stops kissing the ring, and not a second longer.
