Except there is no way in hell you can know this for sure. Colombia may now say they always wanted their citizens back but that does not mean they really did want them back. Politicians from all countries can say something publicly but have a very different policy in reality. See, it's all a game now about saving face and competing narratives.
We at least appear to have a deal where the US will not have to dot every i, cross every t and be subject to the whims of whatever Colombian bureaucrat decides pisses him off about the next shipment of illegals flown back to Colombia. Hopefully this has been accomplished without any tariffs being enforced.

I can’t imagine more dumb political theatre that accomplishes next-to-nothing than a dispute over 60+ Colombians (since Biden was already deporting people by plane) but it is clearly working as the idiot Trump clowns are lapping it up as some sort of genius-level strategy. This is, of course, to be expected because the MAGA clowns are both blindly sycophantic and childishly thick. A couple of dumb truth social posts gets them googling “Machiavelli” because they saw some blue-check user once use it.
One of the things I hate so much about this is having to try and explain it to my children. Trump's behaviour and the MAGA movement is antithetical to everything I've tried to raise my children to be. The "Leader of the Free World" is a boorish, bullying, lying, piece of crap conman and his followers preach "might is right, celebrate ignorance and punching down and revel in everything that's ugly and rotten about the world.
