I’ve got a mate who’s very woke. I blame this new vegan Mrs he has. You should have seen his face though when I told him that black people can be racist too. Thought the lad was aving an asthma attack. Had to sit the poor fella down. He couldn’t believe it.

They don’t teach the kids that at school these days and the Guardian bans any reporting of it.

My experience is rather narrow, living in the Southern US, but generally people I meet who want to "get over" slavery are not those who ever had to deal with the horrors of slavery. But some are simply naive and not themselves raging hateful racists, although some of those are still around as well.
