I’ve never seen that guy in any other role. Is outstanding as Clay Davis. As are many of the sub characters.
Actually think one of the weakest actors in it was Idras Elba, who has obviously gone on to become the most famous.
So many memorable characters, the casting overall was spot on. Thought it should have ended after season 4. The serial killer storyline in 5 was a little far fetched.

Yeah agreed. I think a series 5 was still there to be made but that wasn’t the best story line. I liked the newspaper guys and kinda wish we’d seen more of them.
Thought they brought closure to a lot of characters stories though. Was expecting the ending to be far darker. Always thought we’d see Avon back out as well.
Agreed. The Wire is the thinking man’s series. Sopranos is for cocaine incels.
It’s the best modern representation of Greek Tragedy I’ve seen. Anyone saying there’s anything better ever made is a slack jawed yokel. It’s as simple as that.

Another possible series or spin off could have been done around marlo stanfield. He got out of the life, but couldn’t stay out. Would have been interesting to see if he could reclaim his ‘empire’
