considering none of them are first teamers, so far...ALL OF THEM! in fact if they had not played against norwich, you would have nothing to base this on.

what player in the past three years, from the academy, is in our first 11, or first 15 and actually plays an ACTIVE role in the team?

none of them have succeeded either, most of them have found their level and moved on to it.

Davies vs Norwich? Again the norwich game, the one where norwich relegated and wanting to go on holiday the day afterwards has a youngster look good? Wow, if only playing chelsea the other week was just like that!

Holgate is not a right back and got MOTM against a team worse than us this season, amazing achievement right?

Galloway- So good and valuable we loaned him out rather than have him part of the squad.

Dowell- again when? When did he look good up and down the pitch?

The fact is you are massively speculating on their potential because until they fail in the first team there is no way to prove you wrong.

Your post is a paradox.

Koeman wont even know most of their names...he has watched ONE u23 game.

Kenny not dowell...

Youre using Koemans lack of trust in young players as an argument...its a paradox.

The only time koeman has ever used youth is when he has been forced to do so.

You have no idea how they are progressing. You've seen them once or twice and think they should be in the starting 11, what if they're just not good enough

You said Holgate, Galloway and Davies should be starting.

Based off what exactly?

We would all like to see them of course if they are good enough but its not as easy as saying they should just start after one or two appearances.

Ok...

Baines: Has been average (at best) for 2 seasons...he looks a poor version of himself now. Who do you play instead of him? Oviedo...or Galloway who was player of the month for us last year before being dropped.

Jags: Hes finished...williams plays on the left so that rules out Mori..Holgate is the only RCB option.

Barry: Gueye needs to perform 3 roles and is playing box to box...gueye needs.to be a DM with another high energy player alongside...thats davies.

Coleman: Poor for 2 seasons...Holgate again was far better there this season.

Alternatively we go 3 at the back with williams in the centre and Holgate/Galloway either side of him.and williams can bellow at them.

Think it was a lot to do with the morale boosting effect of bobby being sacked.
Felt like it was gonna be a fresh start

Ive not said all these kids should start...

Holgate should...no brainer
Davies now needs a game as a reward for being 2nd only to gueye when hes played

others come through gradually...bench...mins...games if good...sold or loaned if bad

sorry I didn't come back to you the other day mate.
Yarmolenko, how is he doing in your neck(ish) of the woods?
Is he coming in Jan?

He's been crap this season and supposedly playing with constant niggles mate, Kiev in general have been a bit crap as well

Doubt on his current form the past year and with his showing in the Euros that he will get a 'big move' the chairman always banged on about him deserving, if i was a betting man reckon he will see out his career playing for Kiev now as the ship has sailed on him really.

Still think given the right move he could reignite his career (injuries permitting) but the money Kiev will want wouldn't IMO be worth the risk of him rediscovering his form of a couple of years ago now - well for a team like we are atm which already has shedloads of players not performing or not fullfilling 'potential'

Would we have won more games with him in charge? Yes. (& play a better brand of football also) Is he tactically astute enough to be full time Everton manager, i'm not sure.

Put him in charge now he may give a good season but soon as he has a bad spell, all the 'he's not qualified for this job' will come out and quickly poison the atmosphere and then he will be done for good.

Unsworth needs to go and be manager of Sheffield United or similar and see if he can do good things with them before we even consider him.

Depay is coming Zat ;)

Depay has everything and is potentially a world class attacker...not sure if hes best LW or at ACM though.

Makes sense on a loan with a pre agreed price to buy as he is potentially a superstar...

BUT

He is 22. Why would koeman sign him to be a starter and ignore the 7 or 8 unsworth has said could be in the 1st team when hes only been to one game?

Theres literally no competition and a good squad needs the manager to forge competition in all positions...we just play the same players bar a change in winger every so often.

Because none of those 7 or 8 play left-wing Zat...

Hang on?

When did i talk about Koeman in any way? I'm talking common sense here, 19 year old academy players are not suddenly ready to swap bolton's reserves for International footballers? That is the reality of it, not they magically get team ready, boltons or readings or even stokes reserves pale in comparison to playing against actually top level players.

Very very few players can actually just 'make it' as you seem to think half of our academy can do. So no, when clubs are lucky to get one first team player come through the academy and you expect us to bring 5 or 6 through, it is just realms better suited to video games.

I think he needs to run our u23s...would be a fatal mistake for us to let him go elsewhere.

He could have an older head like Royle there to mentor him if he got the big job.

Here's the side Unsworth picked against Norwich last season where we won 3-0 with TWO DAYS for him to prepare!!!

Howard
Pennington/ Kenny
Stones
Jagielka
Baines
McCarthy / Lennon
Barry
Dowell / Barkley
Davies
Mirallas
Lukaku

Unsworth indicated that the four starlets are the tip of an iceberg of talent coming up through the ranks at Goodison Park and hopes Martinez's successor is someone who has the desire to nurture them.

He added: "I've been saying for a couple of years that there's not just a couple of players in each age group; we've got an abundance of quality. We probably have seven or eight players who, in my opinion, are either ready now or will be ready in 12 months' time.

"That will be the skill of the manager: can he blend top, established players with a new generation of unbelievable talent? Tom and Kieran and Jonjoe and Matty – their pedigree is of the highest level. They've played for England all the way through the age groups. All they needed is the opportunity and they've got that today and they've certainly taken it.

"If you watched that performance, you know that Kieran, Tom, Matty and Jonjoe are here to stay, and you build a team around that."

Happy enthusiastic players in the side all enjoying themselves and playing fluid entertaining football with pressing all over the pitch. Seven or eight youth players ready or nearly ready to come through.

That's what I want to see...not turgid football...like Unsworth says, we could build a team around the young exciting players who all looked like winners compared to this lot.

Make it happen farhad.

If the kids total 10 starts between them it will be a success...and a miracle.

I haven't given up on Koeman yet (would be stupid to - many decent managers such as Kendall or SAF had a dodgy start before going onto be world beaters) but I would like to see Unsworth as our next manager after Koeman.
