JDS should have kept kicking...big punch from the champ.

DC called it when he said JDS was backing on to the fence too much. Stipe is a monster. There's no one for him to fight now though really. Everyone is like 1 fight away from a shot.

Johanna is so technical with her striking, fair play to Andrade for putting up a fight.

Difference between Yair and Pouriet. Can you see out of that eye? 'yeah' then the doctor moves the swelling and still can't see his eye! Hopefully he comes back a better fighter, surely no one wants to see Edgar lose to Aldo again.

Made up for Maia he's well overdue his shot.

Some really good fights on show last night. That Sherman Poulter one was mad.

Nope. But he's a beast when he was fit.

He was. I'd be surprised if the UFC gave him a title fight before he showed he could stay fit long enough though. He held the division up for years with his inactivity. I think if Francis Ngannou can get through his next opponent impressively then they'll try and put him up next.

CONOR McGREGOR continues to work towards his ‘billion dollar fight’ with Floyd Mayweather after officially applying for his boxing licence.

The UFC star is determined to beat the undefeated veteran in the most lucrative bout in history and penned his side of the agreement yesterday.

Mayweather is yet to sign on but is also believed to be keen on getting in the ring at some point this year.

But McGregor continues to put his own cards on the table and has now sent off for his boxing licence in the state of Nevada.

It sets the stage for a glamour showdown at the MGM Grand, and NSAC chief Bob Bennett is confident the licence will be granted.

He told Boxing News: “Conor McGregor has submitted an application to the Nevada State Athletic Commission for a boxing licence. We are currently awaiting additional documents from him in support of his application.

“One of the critical things you have to take into account: Conor’s a phenomenal athlete. When you go back, he took up kickboxing at the age of 12. As a youth, he became an All-Ireland boxing champion.

“He goes to the UFC, of course he had several fights before that, and while he’s with the UFC he’s 21-3 with 17 of those wins coming via knockout or TKO.

“He’s a stand-up fighter, he’s a southpaw, he hits like a ton of bricks, he’s got a great jaw, he’s 5’ 9” and he’s got a reach of 74 inches (187cm).

“If you take a look at his wins in the UFC, they’re predominantly from striking and if you take a look at the fact he was able to move from 145 lbs (65kg) to 155 (70kg) to 170 (77kg), he’s displayed some awesome unarmed combat skills.

“He’s proven that he can fight as a stand-up fighter. I’ve seen some tape of him boxing, I’m sure I’ll get an updated version of his skill-set as a fighter. I certainly think he’s worthy of being approved to fight Floyd Mayweather. His UFC background is critical in approving this fight.

Mayweather is selling it big time here, he knows full well that McGregor has absolutely zero chance.

Impressive stuff from McDonald tonight.

I was always disappointed that Daley was blacklisted by the ufc (deservedly so) but as Rory showed he is a level below the top guys. What's the deal with bisping bit of talk in aussi media that Whittaker is getting a interim title fight with yoel. Is he injured or just waiting for the gsp payday

What a night for Gustafsson - 5th round KO in your home town and then get engaged in the octagon straight after. Can't wait to see him fight winner of DC/Jones. Really think he could do it second time round.

Glover's chin has actually became stronger since Rumble sent him to the shadow realm. Great show from him but can't help but think he would've been more effective if he didn't get eye poked so early. Why didn't Goddard let him recover either?
