That say Koné was better, scoring 0.02 more goals per game?Anichebe Goals per 90 minutes 0.313953
Kone Goals per 90 minutes 0.337769
So Anichebe was slightly better but not by a lot. (Sake of comparison ... RVP's rate was 0.74928.)

I keep reading this constantly, but that's only a fair comparison if they've played the same number of games isn't it, so that stat is completely misleading.
Anichebe scored 8 as apposed to Kone's 11, but played a lot less games.

Dempsey confirmed to MLS. Ha!
Martinez needs to start buying a first 11 centre mid . We lack there and we don't really need any loans or young players now . Everybody knows the man love for Honda but even I have to admit now it's looks unlikely . I like the look of this jorgino dude . Only 21 but about 7 million . If these no money then we should be trying our hardest to get rid of deadwood like heitinga gueye . We should have money though because kenwright supposedly give Martinez 10 million inc wages . We have probarly spent around 8m on the 4 players we have brought in . We only used 3 million in january last season and we should have around 6 million left from the rodwell sale . I would be happy with a centre mid and at a push a winger
Correct. So basically no difference between them last year ... BUT ... Anichebe played in a side with the best chance creating player in the world ... Kone did not (hopefully he will this year). So we'll see. I think considering the context of their scoring rates you'd have to give Kone the edge for playing on the overall inferior team but still (slightly) outperforming Anichebe.
On the bright side, I know we are all sick of the word potential when it comes to Anichebe, but Anichebe already has a few years before his peak and he's already slotting at a somewhat decent rate so maybe ... just maybe ... we'll have a player on our hands in a year or two.
surely it's a backup centre mid we need? you not happy with a fellaini - gibson combination?
What sort of CM do we need?
We defiantly need one but can decide if its an Ever Banega we need or something different?
Agreed on all counts. I think Kone will bring pace, workrate, experience and finishing ability, and he's already proved that he can work successfully in Martinez's systems so I have very few concerns about him. I also think his example could help Victor to develop further.
We need a ginger Irish/scot who can pass the ball sideways, joking aside we need an athletic ball player who is likely to last the season ( good injury record ) hopefully Gibson is over his nigglesWhat sort of CM do we need?

He'd do me fine thankyou very much.
