Kone has scored an offside goal, and a tap in after some shocking defending from Distin. He did well to get his foot to it but he barely terrorised anyone, IMO.

So you've picked two moments there. Both ending in him scoring. But yet ignored the runs he made making our defenders (well one in particular) look like league 2 players?

If being quick is enough to play for Everton why didn't we sign Tyson Gay?

Kone is a queer enough signing for 5m, I'm sure defenders would see a lot of Gay's arse if he was playing for us.

Wouldn't be too surprised to see Mirallas behind the striker, with Delfoo out the wing.

If Deulofeu is prem-ready, and as good as Mirallas on the right, we really will have made improvements. Mirallas spent the tail end of last season drifting across the park, often popping up centrally and on the left, and he looked dangerous as hell doing it. He'll win a LOT of free kicks by running straight at CBs from the no.10 position, and also running at RBs from wide left (remember the first merseyside derby?), and he obviously likes to cut in onto his right foot to shoot.

He's currently our best option on the right by a country mile, but he looks as if he'd do even better centrally or on the left. Pienaar and Osman are on the final lap of their careers so he'll end up on the left anyway eventually IMHO.

It's certainly not a bad translation. The German quote says exactly that...that we offered him a 3-year deal after the Cup final. IF it's true, it's beyond a joke now!

It makes no sense. Moyes was in charge then. And there's no way we'd offer a 33 year old a 3 year deal. It's not true.
